Hot and Sexy Asin is a south Indian actress from the state of Kerala who was born on 26 th October 1985. Asin started acting at a very young age in the year 2001 making her debut in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka. She had her first commercial success with Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi in 2003. Asin was so good in this that she won a Filmfare Award for the Best Telugu Actress for this film. 

Gorgeous Asin have done different roles in her number of films and then received her second South Filmfare Award for Best Actress  for her superb performance in her second Tamil film Ghajini in 2005. Asin made her debut in Bollywood recently with Ghajini opposite Amir Khan and this film was a super hit breaking some records at the box office. Ghajini was the remake of Tamil namesake making Asin subsequently winning the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award.

Family Background of Asin Thottumkal

Asin does not belong to any filmy family and was born into a Syrian Catholic family in Kochi, Kerala. Her father Joseph Thottumkal managed many businesses and at last stopped deciding to manage his daughter’s acting career. Asin’s mother is a surgeon and continues her duty in spite of moving from state to state to live with her daughter. 

According to Asin, her name a bit different yet nice came from two words, ‘A’ means “without” in Sanskrit and ‘Sin’ is an English word giving the meaning as “pure and without blemish”.

Acting career of Asin Thottumkal

Asin was very young when she started her acting career. She was just 15 when she debuted in a Malayalam film in a supporting role in the year 2001. Asin Thottumkal took a year after this to pursue her education and returned to the film industry as an actress, portraying a tamil girl in her first Tulugu film, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi which fetched her the Telugu Filmfare Award for Best Actress. 

Gorgeous and sensuous Asin won the Santosham Best Actress Award in the same year for her outstanding performance in her second Telugu film, Shivamani. There were another two successful Telugu films, Lakshmi Narasimha and Gharshana both portraying Asin as the love interest for police officers which cemented her place as a leading actress in the Telugu film Industry. 

Hot and sexy Asin’s first Tamil language film, M. Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi was a super hit and was one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema during 2004. After doing a Telugu film Chakram, Asin again appeared in Ullam Ketkumae which was long delayed but eventually became a super hit at the box office and created wider opportunities for this brilliant actress.

After the release of Ullam Ketkumae, Asin became the leading heroine of the Tamil industry. The film Ghajini, co-starring Surya and Nayantara and directed by A. R. Murugadoss provided the breakthrough for Asin and for this film she received the Tamil Filmfare Award for the Best Actress. In 2005, Asin gave two average films, Sivaskasi and Majaa and the following year her long delayed film, Varalaru was the biggest blockbuster of 2006 in Tamil cinema. 

This gorgeous girl again appeared in Pawan Kalyan’s, Annavaram which was once again a successful venture. Asin’s next three films, Aalwar, Pokkiri and Hari’s Vel again did good job leaving Aalwar which could not do much at the box office. This brave girl continuing to fly high and accepting the challenges appeared in her first dual role in K. S. Ravikumar’s magnum opus Dasavathaaram opposite one of the brilliant actor Kamal Hussan, who portrayed ten roles. This film became Asin’s largest film till that time and the work of this hot actress was well appreciated and praised as her best-to-date. The film itself became the biggest blockbuster in South Indian film history.

Now this versatile actress proving herself as the leading actress of South India opted to move into Bollywood to get nationwide fame. Her first Bollywood film was Ghajini opposite Amir Khan and this film was the remake of Asin’s breakthrough film of the same name.
